ICE Components Releases Current Sense Transformers for High Frequency Power Applications Up to 200A

May 17, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

ICE Components, Inc. announced two new current sense transformers. ICE’s CT07 and CT08 current sense transformers use a nanocrystalline core to increase the current rating and frequency range over similarly sized CT’s. ICE’s CT07 and CT08 offers many advantages over CT’s presently used in ac-dc converters, motor drives, power supplies for telecom applications and power supplies for high power.

The CT07 and CT08 are suitable for frequencies from 40Hz to 200kHz. The CT07 has a max current rating of 200A and the CT08 has a max current rating of 50A. Both parts use the traditional "tombstone" package to match competitive footprints and feature a hi-pot rating of 3,750Vac.

"The CT07 and CT08 current sense transformers offer a lot of flexibility to our customers. The use of nanocrystalline material really shrinks the size compared to other CT’s on the market and offers a wide frequency range." says Robin Benas, Engineering Manager for ICE Components.

Parts are available with prices averaging $1.61 for 100k pieces of the CT07 and $1.51 for 100k pieces of the CT08. Individual parts pricing may vary due to volume, configuration and shipping destination.
