Hydrogenics Rebrands Fuel Cell Test Division

November 10, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Hydrogenics Corp. (Toronto, Canada), a manufacturer of fuel cell technology, announced that its Greenlight Power Technologies Inc. (Burnaby, Canada) division, which specializes in equipment and services for hydrogen fuel cell testing, will now operate under the name Hydrogenics Test Systems, effective immediately. Hydrogenics acquired Greenlight Power Technologies in 2003, and retained the company name and its operations in order to leverage certain elements of Greenlight's market presence and competitive positioning. As a result of product and market development initiatives over the last three years, and the acquisition of Stuart Energy Systems Inc. in early 2005, Hydrogenics' expertise and range of product offerings has grown considerably.

"This rebranding will in no way change the way we do business, or alter any existing commitments or relationships to customers, employees, or partners; nothing will change except the name on Greenlight's products and stationery," said Hydrogenics President and CEO Pierre Rivard. "Hydrogenics is committed to being a leader in the hydrogen product business, and our test business is indicative of how our company approaches today's fuel cell markets with a focus on early commercial sustainability. As such, Hydrogenics Test Systems is a vital business unit within Hydrogenics. This rebranding simply recognizes how our company has grown and evolved."
