Hubbell joins the TALQ Consortium for Lighting Controls

November 24, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Hubbell Lighting announced today that Hubbell Building Automation (HBA) has become an associate member of the TALQ Consortium. The TALQ Consortium aims to establish a globally-accepted standard for management software interfaces to control and monitor heterogeneous outdoor lighting networks. From the industry's first self-adaptive occupancy sensor to the introduction of networked lighting control products, HBA's proven technology includes some of the most advanced wireless lighting sensors in the industry. As a member of the Consortium, HBA and the TALQ Consortium will work together to foster competition and help grow the market for the benefit of the users and the environment.

“The TALQ Consortium’s mission is directly aligned with our strategy to deliver advanced energy efficient outdoor lighting systems for a range of applications, explained Terry Arbouw, Director of Business Development at HBA. “The development of a uniform standard will accelerate adoption of energy saving outdoor lighting control systems, and we look forward to working closely with the Consortium to ensure the requirements of the North American market are represented.”

Gerard Lokhoff, Secretary General of the TALQ Consortium added, “With this decision, HBA confirms the benefits of TALQ Consortium membership. Now, more than 25 of the leading lighting industry players have joined the TALQ Consortium to support the development of a new industry standard for smart outdoor lighting management. We are excited to launch our certification program in 2015 and finally provide cities and utilities with a transparent choice with a broad range of TALQ-compliant products.”
