High-Frequency High-Current Toroidal Inductors

July 19, 2017 by Paul Shepard

Signal Transformer, a Bel group company announced the addition of the vertical mount High Current Toroidal Inductor (HCTI) series are widely used for EMI/RFI filtering, reduced radiation, energy storage capability, high efficiency and low loss performance.

The HCTI is available in a wide range of standard inductances from 10-1000 µH and a rated current ranging 2.4A to 20A. By increasing frequencies, the HCTI allows for flexibility in applications such as lighting, ac-dc power supplies, dc-dc converters, EMI/RFI filtering, industrial, and consumer goods.  Custom versions can be designed for horizontal PCB mounting, with 2 or 4 pin headers, or non-standard inductances.

Additional specifications include: Operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C; Class B insulation; RoHS and REACH Compliant; and 1.28" maximum height, 0.65" maximum width.

Features include: Higher efficiency through reduced core loss; Low magnetic radiation from self-shielding; High energy storage with distributed air gaps; Lower temperature rise with high current density; and Vertical PC mounting for optimal PC layout.
