HbT and Visteon Form Exclusive Fuel Cell Alliance

March 07, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

HbT (Rancho Dominguez) and Visteon Corp. (Dearborn, MI) have formed an exclusive engineering, development and manufacturing alliance to commercialize HbT's hydrogen fuel processors for use in PEM fuel cell systems. The agreement calls for Visteon to provide engineering, design and support services to HbT for its fuel processors, including design and manufacturing for HbT's facility in Rancho Dominguez. In addition, Visteon will provide contract manufacturing, as HbT's customer volume grows, to deliver commercial hydrogen fuel processor systems as an exclusive supplier to HbT.

"Visteon's vast experience in manufacturing will significantly accelerate our efforts to accomplish targeted unit cost reductions in order to achieve large-scale commercial production of our fuel processors," commented HbT president and CEO David Moard.
