August 07, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

H Power Corp. (Clifton, NJ) announced that it has received an order for five commercial HCore-500 units from Naps Systems Oy (Vantaa, Finland), a subsidiary of Fortum Corp. (Finland). Naps will use the units for demonstration with its European-based customers, adapting the units for European voltage requirements, which will be used in telecommunications applications.

The HCore-500 is a hydrogen-fueled, 500W, 48Vdc power source that can be configured for indoor or outdoor use. Multiple H-Cores can be combined to create customer-specific solutions featuring voltage outputs of 120Vac, 60Hz, or 48Vdc to 2kW.
