Gowanda Electronics Introduces the SMP 2007 Series of Inductors

June 19, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Gowanda Electronics (Gowanda, NY) introduced a new series of vertical, surface-mount, toroidal power inductors. This new SMP 2007 Series consists of miniaturized high-current inductors suitable for use in power-supply applications where maximum current-handling capacity and minimum size are equally important. The SMP 2007 Series features a pick-and-place vertical-mount package that is designed to minimize external magnetic fields. This series is specifically targeted for use in dc/dc converters and power-supply applications.

The SMP 2007 Series features an inductance of 0.15mH to 15.0mH, current ratings of 1.9A to 5.9A and saturation current up to 15A. Specific applications include microprocessor and distributed-power applications such as power supplies, power regulators and dc/dc converters, especially in test and measurement equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, and industrial process-control equipment. The inductors are also suitable for use in security systems, instrumentation, bar code and laboratory analysis equipment.

Typical pricing for Gowanda Electronics’ SMP 2007 Series inductors is less than $1.00 each in production quantities.
