February 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Global Acquisition Inc. (Salt Lake City, UT) announced that the company has changed its name to Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. Along with the name change, the company also changed its trading symbol to “OTCBB: OKRM” to more accurately reflect the name of the company. The company held a shareholder meeting to formally approve the change.

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy owns the rights to acquire a license from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), pertaining to electrical and solar-rechargeable thin-film lithium batteries that were discovered and invented by Dr. John Bates and his research team at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Mark Meriwether, president and CEO of Global Acquisition, commented, “The name change is the first step in our plan to become the preeminent provider of thin-film technology worldwide. With the inventor of the device as the new leader of our company, our opportunities are without limit.”
