Glary Power Unveils UH48033-120 Half-Brick Module

October 28, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Glary Power Technology (Taichung, Taiwan) announced its new UH48033-120 ultra-high power half-brick module with 120 A of delivered current for 3.3 V output and 90% conversion efficiency, which was designed by applying patented buck-reset topology with the single-board, single-component side structure to get high efficiency, lower thermal resistance and an ultra-high power rating.

The new module was designed to meet the increased power demand in the server computing and data communications field. It provides on-board, multiple VRM/POL support for multiple processor systems with high power and high efficiency to cross a 36 V to 75 V input range. Two additional output pins meet the new industrial standard double-pin pin assignment to allow high current delivery with lower I2R loss.

The module features a 2 kVdc isolation rating between the primary to secondary that is designed to meet international safety standards, including EN60950 and CSA/UL60950, providing full protection functions such as over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection and input under-voltage lockout. It offers an output-voltage trim facility that enables the output to be adjusted between 90% and 110% of nominal.

The module is priced at $140 each, and samples are available now.
