GE Fanuc Automation Offers New VersaMax Micro PLCs
GE Fanuc Automation (Charlottesville, VA) introduced the latest additions to its VersaMax family of micro PLCs, two new ac-powered CPU models and an expansion unit designed for applications requiring high-current control.
The new 120Vac VersaMax micro PLCs feature rugged construction with electrical and vibration standards that make them suitable for applications such as packaging lines, assembly machines, trash compacting and other automated systems. The VersaMax Micro PLC is available in two 120Vac CPU models. The first is a 14-point CPU with eight ac inputs and six relay outputs, two of which are rated at 10A. The second version is a 28-point CPU with 16 ac inputs and 12 relay outputs, two of which are rated at 10A. In addition, there is a new 14-point expansion unit with eight ac inputs and six relay outputs, two of which are rated at 10A.
Each model supports up to four expansion units and a maximum of 84 I/O. Both the 14-point and 28-point CPUs have a built-in RS-232 port, and the 28-point PLCs also include an RS-485 port. Both CPUs support SNP, serial read/write commands and Modbus slave. The 28-point CPU also supports SNP master/slave for multi-drop applications, as well as a real-time clock for time- and date-stamping. The VersaMax Micro also comes standard with two analog potentiometers for set-point adjustments.
