FuelCell Energy to Expand Torrington Plant

FuelCell Energy Inc. (Danbury, CT) announced company plans to invest $20.0 million on new equipment needed to boost capacity at its Torrington, CT, plant. FuelCell's mini power plants, built in Torrington, are being developed to run hospitals, schools, apartment buildings and other large facilities.

Jerry Leitman, president and CEO, stated, "You want to stay ahead of the curve as far as getting the machinery and equipment in. You don't want to be behind capacity when the market's demanding more."
