Fuel-Cell-Powered Vehicles to Make Antarctic Trek

A team of adventurers in Japan announced that they are planning to cross Antarctica between November 2002 and January 2003 on fuel-cell-powered vehicles to demonstrate the usefulness of the new energy source.

The team, Challenge Antarctica 21, will consist of three to six members, led by Mikio Chiba. The trek will be over 2,700km via the South Pole.
