Fairchild Semi Claims to be On-Track for Q4

December 04, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (South Portland, MA) has reiterated its guidance expecting fourth quarter 2000 sales to be approximately $490 million. “This quarter so far is progressing in line with the projections we made during our third quarter earnings conference call about five weeks ago," said Kirk Pond, chairman, president and CEO of the company.

Pond continued, “We strongly believe Fairchild is well-positioned in its markets, as we continue to introduce new products, increase market share at major OEMs and contract manufacturers, and sell our products into broad market segments. Although our gross margin growth may be tempered somewhat through this slower period, we believe we can book and ship enough additional orders to achieve our $490 million sales target."
