Fairchild Predicts Q2 Revenues to Fall at Higher End of Guidance Range

September 05, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor (South Portland, MN) reports that it expects second-quarter revenues to fall at the higher end of a range it provided six weeks ago, and that third-quarter revenues would also fall before rebounding during the fourth quarter. Fairchild also said that it expects a second-quarter revenue drop down five percent from the first quarter.

However, Fairchild said that order cancellations have diminished from the first quarter, and it sees signs that its business will bottom out this summer.
