Fairchild Intros New FGL60N100BNTD IGBT

April 28, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor International (South Portland, ME) introduced a new 1,000 V/60 A IGBT that delivers switching and conduction as well as avalanche ruggedness in induction heating applications. Combining Fairchild’s proprietary trench technology and non-punch through (NPT) technology, the new FGL60N100BNTD achieves avalanche immunity that protects the IGBT from field failure caused by breakdown avalanche during off-state and, increases reliability in induction heating applications.

The FGL60N100BNTD features switching speeds optimized for induction heating applications (tf = 130 ns, typical) and low saturation voltage to limit conduction losses . A built-in fast-recovery diode on the FGL60N100BNTD simplifies circuit design and reduces component count. The FGL60N100BNTD is packaged in a lead-free TO-264, meets or exceeds the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B, and is compliant with the European Union requirements, which will take effect in 2005.

Available now, pricing for the FGL60N100BNTD is $4.08 for 1,000-piece quantities. Delivery is 12 weeks from ARO.
