Fairchild Intros FCAS50SN60 Smart Power Module

Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (South Portland, ME) introduced its new Smart Power Module (SPM™) designed for driving single-phase, switched reluctance motors. The new 50 A FCAS50SN60 SPM integrates a high-voltage IC and low-voltage IC, IGBTs, fast-recovery diodes and a thermistor in a compact 44 mm x 26.8 mm Mini-DIP package.

The package features direct bonded copper technology that increases thermal performance. The UL-certified FCAS50SN60 provides an optocoupler-less, single-supply IGBT gate driving capability that reduces overall system size, and its integrated under-voltage lockout and short-circuit protection ensures reliability. The FCAS50SN60’s optimized switching speed meets electromagnetic interference requirements.

The new FCAS50SN60 SPM is available now, and is priced at $30 for 100-piece quantities. Delivery is 12 weeks from ARO.
