Exide Technologies (Princeton, NJ) announced that Exide Australia recently earned an “A" rating by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd. (MMAL). The manufacturing facility won the Supplier Quality Performance (SQP) rating for the period July through December 2000 for the ability to deliver on time and in full, meeting the stringent standards related to defective parts and engineering innovation. Exide Australia manufactures automotive starting batteries for MMAL's domestic Magna and Verada passenger vehicles, as well as for the Mitsubishi Diamante export vehicle.
“This award recognizes Exide Australia for continuous improvement over the past few years," said Bill Morrissy, group general manager, Australasia, Exide Technologies. “The Australia plant is recognized as the number one supplier from a field of 78, reflecting the team's dedication and commitment to service, excellence and quality products."
