Excelsys Technologies Launches New 3gen LN Series of Power Supplies

January 03, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Excelsys Technologies Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland) has launched a range of innovative switch-mode ac/dc power supplies featuring low noise outputs. The new 3gen LN Series of power supplies employ state-of-the-art magnetic-amplifier technology and an innovative active-noise attenuation circuit to provide the type of low-noise performance traditionally associated with linear supplies, combined with the high-conversion efficiencies, low weight and small physical dimensions of the latest-generation switch-mode designs.

Available with 400W, 600W or 1,000W power-output capabilities, the 3gen LN Series offers users a choice of one, two or three isolated outputs, each of which can be configured from any of four output modules, spanning voltages from 3V to 27V. All models in the series offer conversion efficiencies of around 75 percent, and meet the EN61000-3-2 standard for harmonic-current content, due to take effect in 2001.

There are four single-output modules to choose from, with nominal outputs of 5V/30A, 12V/20A, 18V/15A and 24V/12A. The output voltage of each module can be adjusted over a wide range via a multi-turn potentiometer.

Excelsys' 3gen LN Series of power supplies are designed for use in noise-critical applications such as analytical instrumentation, high-specification measurement and audio/broadcast equipment, and are also used for the replacement of linear power supplies.
