Energy Ventures Inc. (EVI, Toronto) announced it has expanded and extended its current strategic alliance with the Institute for Chemical Process and Environmental Technology (ICPET) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) related to energy materials research and development. EVI and ICPET have been working on proprietary technology in the area of lithium-ion battery materials and expect to be in a position to begin marketing the technology by mid-1999.
The parties have agreed to expand their program to include work in a variety of battery formats and energy materials, including hybrid-zinc carbon/bromine cells, nickel-zinc cells, and fuel cells.
