EOS Corp. (Camarillo, CA) introduced its new MVLT110 Series 110W, open-frame, ac/dc switching power supply, certified for use in non-patient medical applications, including hospital data systems, health-care information systems, touch-screen displays, dental equipment, outpatient equipment, laboratory and analysis systems, and medical research equipment.
Packing over 6.8W per cubic inch in a 3in x 5in x 1.07in footprint, the MVLT110 delivers 110W of output power and up to 85 percent efficiency. Just slightly over 1in high, the MVLT110 will not block air-flow circulation, but rather will allow for proper cooling throughout the entire system in 1U designs.
The MVLT110 power supply comes in single-output versions from 5V to 48V. There are also five quad-output versions, including a model offering a 3.3V output rated at 15A, and a 5V output rated at over 4A for mixed-mode logic boards. Additional features include overload, over-voltage protection and power-fail detect.
The power supply includes on-board filtering for Class B compliance to EN55022 and FCC Part 15. The product carries the CE mark and complies with EN61000-3-2 Class A for harmonic distortion. The MVLT110 products have a mean time between failure greater than 200,000 hours. The MVLT110 weighs just 12oz.
The new V-Series MVLT110 power supplies are now available with 10- to 12-week lead times. The quad-output models sell in quantities of 100 starting at $103 each, and the single-output versions sell in quantities of 100 starting at $87 each.
