Electronic Concepts Intros RCN Snubber Network Series

April 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Electronic Concepts Inc. (Eatontown, NJ) announced its RCN snubber network series of film-foil capacitors with externally mounted resistors for direct connection to standard ultra-fast rectifiers in MD3CC packages for snubbing high-frequency switching transients in switch-mode power supplies.

The RCN snubber network has a direct mounting feature that aligns the three terminals with the rectifier package, improving space use, decreasing assembly and increasing reliability. Each snubber network is made with two series-connected RC legs and a common center tap terminal. The capacitance ranges from 0.0086µF to 0.22µF with resistor values from 2.5 Ohms to 25 Ohms in the 20W heatsink TO-220 packaging. The operating tempertaure is 105 degrees C.
