Elantec Semiconductor Introduces New EL4342C and EL4346C Amplifiers

August 16, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Elantec Semiconductor Inc. (Milpitas, CA) introduced its multiplexing amplifiers, the EL4342C and the EL4346C. Designed to process the latest standards in PC video, including UXGA and QXGA, these new multiplexing amplifiers are also ideal for HDTV processing applications where they are used in input-switching applications.

With a fixed gain of one, the EL4342C has a bandwidth of 600MHz and the EL4346C, with a fixed gain of two, has a 500MHz bandwidth. Operating on +/-5V supplies, these MUX amps feature high slew rates (1,200V/us) and low power consumption, just 11mA per channel.

Michael Jennings, director of strategic marketing for video and amplifier products at Elantec said, "These new multiplexers represent the latest in a series of high-performance products from Elantec targeted at the general-purpose video market. With industry-leading specifications, we expect these 'building-block' devices to be designed into many different applications, from high-volume consumer applications such as projectors and flat-panel displays, to high-end professional equipment such as medical imaging and broadcast applications."

Sampling now, the EL4342C and EL4346C are priced at $3.85 each in quantities of 1,000 units, and are available in the 24-pin QSOP package.
