Delta Debuts Q48DV Quarter-Brick DC Converter

April 28, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Delta Electronics Inc. (Chungli, Taiwan), a leader in power systems technology and manufacturing, introduced its new Q48DV, 40 W quarter-brick, dual-output converter into its Delphi Series of board-mounted, dc-dc power converters. The Q48DV product provides two positive outputs of up to 40 W or 10 A each in a cost-effective, industry-standard, quarter-brick footprint.

The Delphi Series Q48DV isolated, dc-dc converter operates from a wide input-voltage range of 36 V to 75 V, along with an expanse of outputs comprised of 2.5 V/3.3 V, 1.8 V/3.3 V, 1.5 V/3.3 V, 1.2 V/3.3 V and 1.0 V/3.3 V. The quarter-brick-sized Q48DV units offer high efficiency of up to 88 percent at full load. As a factory option, either of the two outputs may be selected to come up first. Basic features include low-profile, low-output, ripple and noise; a standard footprint; industry-standard pin out; basic insulation; and all units are fully protected against all abnormal conditions.

Sample quantities of the Delphi Q48DV converters are available for immediate delivery. In OEM quantities of 1,000 pieces, the unit price is $25. Standard lead-time for this product is from stock to eight weeks, depending on the outputs and volume.
