May 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

DCH Technology Inc. (Valencia, CA) announced the sale and shipment of a 5kW DCH Enable fuel cell system that will run on either direct hydrogen or natural gas to Con Edison Co. Inc. (Westchester, NY), the regulated utility of Consolidated Edison Inc., which will test and validate the system and then place the fuel cell with targeted customers for evaluation as a power quality system and/or peak shaving system.

"This contract represents our third new customer in the energy utility market over the last two quarters, all of them major energy providers, here in the US, in Europe and in Canada," said DCH President and CEO John Donohue. "Our technology is uniquely suited to serve as power quality and standby power products, and the energy industry is responding to this fact."
