DCH Expanding Fuel Cell Facilities

April 28, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

DCH Technology Inc. (Valencia, CA) announced it is expanding its Fuel Cell Operations into a new and larger facility outside of Madison, Wisconsin, beginning May 1, 1999. The new facility will accommodate the design, development and pilot production operations for DCH's proprietary Hydrogen Fuel Cells.According to the company, the new facility will allow it to respond to the increased demand for fuel cells it has received after unveiling its first configuration of a hydrogen-fueled PEM fuel cell at the recent 10th Annual National Hydrogen Association Meeting. DCH stated that the fuel cell demonstration resulted in a higher demand for prototype units than initially anticipated."The demand for our fuel cells has taken us a little by surprise and serves as an example to the renewable energy industry that what was once far off, is now a market reality," stated DCH President David Walker. "Increased enthusiasm for the DCH PEM fuel cell has accelerated the implementation of our strategic plan."DCH has a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Los Alamos National Laboratory to continue the evolution and improvement of their proprietary fuel cell.
