The board of directors at TECSTAR Inc. (City of Industry, CA) recently announced that David M. Van Buren has resigned as CEO and a member of the board of TECSTAR and its subsidiaries.
In accepting his resignation, the board praised the organization built over the eight years of Van Buren's tenure as CEO. "TECSTAR is not only a world leader in the development of new products such as the Cascade triple junction solar cell, it continues to improve processing efficiency to offer customers the latest products at the lowest cost," said John Clark, chairman of the board. "While no one person can take credit for these accomplishments, Dave has made enormous contributions and we wish him well in his new endeavors. We are also very appreciative of his desire to ensure a smooth transition by remaining involved with the company for the interim period in a non-executive capacity."
The board has initiated a search for a new CEO, which is expected to be completed in a few months. During the interim, Mark DeWitt, general manager of TECSTAR's Applied Solar Division, will join the existing office of the president and, with CFO John Hemingway, will direct the overall operations of the company. Each of the company's existing subsidiaries will continue to operated under the current management. As a result, day-to-day operations and customer relationships are expected to be largely unchanged.
