Dave Petratis Accepts Schneider Electric Position

December 15, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) announced that MGE Americas President Dave Petratis has accepted the position of President and Chief Operations Officer for the North American division of Schneider Electric (Palatine, IL). Schneider Electric is a one-third owner of MGE. Claude Graff, chief operations officer of MGE, will act as interim president of MGE Americas until a replacement is identified. Petratis will officially join Schneider Electric in February of 2003.

"MGE Americas is well positioned for growth through its people, products and services," stated Graff. "As the Internet infrastructure resumes a growth path and critical business computing increases, the need for reliable power protection becomes even more important. Recent reports indicate that IT spending will increase five percent in 2003 and the UPS market will grow accordingly. MGE is in the right place at the right time. While we'll miss Dave at the helm of MGE Americas, I'm confident that his talents and expertise will be a great asset to Schneider Electric."
