Datatronic Distribution Unveils DR353 Inductor Series

February 17, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Datatronic Distribution Inc. (Romoland, CA) unveiled its miniature, surface-mount DR353 Series inductors, which feature an open-frame design with a low-seated profile from 0.079 in (2.0 mm) above the circuit board, and is available in a wide range of inductance values. The DR353 inductors are suitable for a wide range of applications in portable devices, mobile phones, medical devices, appliances, automotive, as well as in high-density circuit board designs for lower-cost commercial and consumer devices.

The DR353 Series features an inductance range from 0.10 µH to 560 µH, with a DCR from 0.25 Ohm to 28 Ohms over a maximum current rating from 0.700 A to 0.040 A. The devices are compatible with extreme temperature environments, ranging from –40 °C to +130 °C, and all materials meet the UL 94V-0 requirements. The DR353 inductors come in packages as small as 0.100 in x 0.126 in x 0.079 in (2.5 mm x 3.2 mm x 2.0 mm). The DR353 Series is designed with a flat-top surface, which makes it compatible with high-speed, automated, pick-and-place assembly and high-temperature soldering equipment as well.

Custom-designed DR353 Series inductor packages can be specified to meet circuit requirements. The DR353 Series inductor is priced from $0.15 each in typical production volumes. Lead-time is stock to six weeks. Volume OEM pricing is available upon request.
