Dataforth Introduces Voltage Attenuation System

September 24, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Dataforth Corp. (Tucson, AZ) introduced its new voltage attenuation system (VAS), which is a safe, convenient and inexpensive way to monitor high voltages.

With the VAS, voltage potentials

up to 460Vac (1,300V peak-to-peak) can be accurately measured. Dataforth's modules

reduce the input signal to a level (such as +/-5Vdc) suitable for any data acquisition system while providing protection and isolation to 1,500Vrms.

There are three parts to Dataforth's system. The pre-condition modules, SCMVAS-Mxxx; the isolation module selections, 5B31-21 with 4Hz bandwidth for low-frequency or dc inputs, 5B41-21 with 10KHz bandwidth for 50/60Hz or higher frequency, and 5B33-02 true RMS converter input modules; and the backpanel selections (DIN or panel mount), eight channel screw-terminal inputs and screw-terminal outputs, and 16 channel screw-terminal inputs and ribbon cable outputs.
