Cyber Memory Inc. (San Jose, CA) recently introduced the Hewlett-Packard off-line 500VA/300W (50Hz/60Hz) Personal Standby UPS system. The UPS system is designed to provide reliable battery-backup to stand-alone computers in the home or small office environment.

The HP 500VA is designed to protect equipment from battery over-drain, short-circuit, overload and line noise while providing clean ac power. The UPS uses an RS232 interface and can schedule the system's self-diagnosis, and indicates the UPS status with an LED display and audio alarm.

The UPS measures 19 x 5.5 x 31.42cm. Pricing for the HP 500VA starts at $119.
