Cubic Communications Acquires Power Amplifier Business

September 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Cubic Communications Inc. (San Diego, CA) acquired Advanced Analog Inc.'s RF power amplifier business.

The purchase, for an undisclosed amount, strengthens Cubic's power amplifier product line for RF communications applications and moves the company into the semiconductor equipment market.

The new business line is named the RF Systems Division of Cubic Communications Inc. (San Jose, CA), and includes all resources used in the design, manufacture and sale of the power amplifier product.

Bent Meier, former general manager of the Advanced Analog power amplifier business, has been named vice president and general manager of the RF Systems Division, reporting to Richard Lober, president and CEO of Cubic Communications.

"We are excited to have Bent and his team join the Cubic family and view the acquisition as significantly strengthening our position in the worldwide market for high-power communications equipment," Lober said.
