Cornell Dubilier Debuts Type 325 Capacitor

January 07, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Cornell Dubilier (Liberty, SC) announced the availability of its Type 325 capacitor rated for operation from –55 to +125 degrees C. The new type has exceptionally low ESRs of as little as 5 milliohms, making it suitable as an output capacitor in a switching power supply or as a battery-stiffening capacitor in a UPS system.

The Type 325 has a voltage range from 6.3Vdc to 35Vdc, and capacitance values from 880µF to 46,000µF, +100 percent. Available in the same cases as the company's Type 300 and 301 capacitors, the diameters measure 3/4in, 7/8in and 1in, and lengths measure from 11/8in to 35/8in. Two- and three-lead configurations are available. The ripple current capability is from 5.6A to 26.7A at 20kHz and 85 degrees C. The rated life test is 8,000 hours at 105 degrees C, and 2,000 hours at 125 degrees C.

The Type 325 is priced in OEM quantities from $2.95 to $5.00, according to capacitance and voltage, and is available from stock or up to six weeks ARO.
