Controlnet International Unveils iCONNET AC-DC Electricity-Management-System

October 02, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

Controlnet International Inc. is unveiling its iCONNET SPB EMS (Energy-Management-System), which the company describes as the electricity operating system for next-generation Self-Powered Buildings (SPB) with the most efficient integrated smart-home functions.

The iCONNET EMS is a customizable and scalable modular array system that can be adapted into any existing home, high-rise, commercial and industrial buildings. Since current buildings are not designed to provide integrated and optimized connectivity, electricity losses up to 23% occur in the conversion from ac to dc power. The multi-voltage iCONNET EMS maximizes energy efficiency of conventional ac-powered buildings.

The iCONNET EMS seamlessly integrates and directs multi-power sources: grid, renewables (wind/solar/thermal) and cloud. More importantly, it can provide direct dc-power to appliances like laptops and smart phones(iPhone). Portable devices can plug directly into the wall-outlet without bulky energy-consuming transformers. The iCONNET EMS effectively reduces loss of energy, heat and waste of resources. In addition to LED-lighting, it can provide a new platform for dc-powered energy-efficient consumer electronics and household appliances like air-conditioners, refrigerators and washers.

The iCONNET EMS is commercially-ready and adaptable immediately, also designed for the optimally performing next-generation building, SPB(Self-Powered-Building), certified by the International Self-Powered Building Council (ISPBC).
