Changzhou Debuts Polypropylene-Film Capacitors

September 04, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Changzhou Changjie Electronic Co. Ltd. (China) introduced its new metallized polypropylene-film capacitors, which feature a non-inductive construction in a lightweight, compact form-factor.

The capacitors exhibit self-healing properties, as well as high capacitance and resistance stability. At high frequencies, they provide low dissipation factor and low temperature rise. The devices are suitable for telecommunications, power supplies, data processing and electronic applications.

Rated voltages include 100V, 250V and 400V. Capacitance values range from 0.47µF to 20µF, with capacitance tolerance of ±5 and ±10 percent. Dielectric strength is rated at up to 160 percent of the rated voltage. Insulation resistance is 10 gigaohms (minimum). The dissipation factor is <0.2 percent at a 6.8µF minimum capacitance, or <0.1 percent if the capacitance is <6.8µF.
