May 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

California Micro Devices Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced the addition of a low-noise, power-management device to its Power Wise Regulator family for mobile and wireless handset applications. The new CM3014 Series of low dropout voltage regulators combine a low dropout voltage, small form factor, low current (70µA) and a high power supply rejection ratio in one device, suitable for wireless handsets, digital cameras, PDAs and hand-held PCs, and MP3 players.

The CM3014 is available in multiple options that support output voltages, including 3.3V, 3.0V, 2.9V, 2.8V and 1.8V. The device delivers a low dropout voltage of 150mV at 150mA output current. The CM3014 offers both fold-back, overload current protection and thermal overload protection features that protects the LDO regulator from overheating.

Pricing for the CM3014 in a five-lead SOT23 package format is $0.52 each in 1,000-piece quantities. Delivery is 10 weeks ARO.
