Burr-Brown Announces the DCV01 Series of DC/DC Converters

July 09, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Burr-Brown Corp. (Tucson, AZ) announced the DCV01 Series of 1W isolated, unregulated dc/dc converters featuring high isolation, high efficiency and small package size. The DCV01 Series is designed for power-isolation applications found in industrial-process control and medical instrumentation. Burr-Brown claims that the use of an integrated package design results in reliable products with a power density of 40W per cubic inch.

"The DCV01 Series requires minimum external components and features up to 85 percent efficiency, on-chip device protection, output disable and synchronization of switching frequencies. It responds to industry demand for higher isolation dc/dc converters by providing the only 1,500Vrms dc/dc solution available in standard IC packages," said Brad Weaterton, strategic marketing manager at Burr-Brown's European Components Division in Livingston, Scotland.

The DCV01 Series is priced from $8 in quantities of 1,000 and packaged in PDIP-14 and 14-lead Gull-Wing versions. Delivery is from stock.
