BTCPower Introduces BTC1036 Rectifier Power Module

September 05, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Broadband TelCom Power (BTCPower, Santa Ana, CA) introduced the new BTC1036 rectifier power module, an 800W front-end ac/dc power supply for distributed-power

architecture, telecom and Internet applications.

The BTC1036, which measures 5.5in x 11.521in x 1.63in, is designed to fit within an industry-standard 1U high (1.75in) rack, making it the lowest profile, with highest

power and current density, power supply for that form factor in the industry. It accepts an input voltage of 85Vac to 264Vac at 47Hz to 63Hz, is power-factor corrected, and delivers upward of 48Vdc at 16.6A.

BTCPower also offers a 1U high x 12in

deep rectifier power shelf (RPS) that incorporates three BTC1036 units to produce a combined 2,400W of power, and a 2U high RPS that can handle six units for double the power at 4,800W. Both of these RPSs set new standards for power and current-density output for that form factor.

Each BTC1036 power module within the rectifier shelf has precise active current sharing and is hot-swappable to provide N+1 redundancy. The RPS comes with adjustable mounting ears that allow for front and center mounting in standard 19in deep racks. The module is EMI rated to CISPR22/EN55022-A. The product has self-contained cooling and can operate in a temperature range between 5 to +50 degrees C.
