May 06, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Black & Veatch Corp. (Overland Park, KS) announced the formation of its global Renewable Energy Group, which provides comprehensive project services for renewable energy projects in the areas of wind, solar, biomass, hydroelectric, geothermal and ocean energy. Black & Veatch has been involved in renewable energy projects since designing a hydroelectric project in 1915, and has been continuously involved with other forms of renewable energy technologies.

The newly formed "virtual" group draws upon expertise broadly available throughout the company, specifically the energy and water sectors, and is now structured to better serve clients' needs and meet the opportunities presented by this rapidly growing market. The Renewable Energy Group is being formed to respond to emerging renewable energy opportunities both in the US and internationally.
