B&K Precision Corp. (Placentia, CA) has announced the immediate availability of its new Model 1605 125W dc/ac inverter. The new inverter uses a 10-15Vdc power source, such as a standard cigarette lighter, to provide an instant output of 115Vac, 1.2A (125W) at 60Hz. The unit is aimed at a variety of applications, including powering a 115Vac lamp, notebook computer or television set from an automobile, camper, boat or other 12Vdc battery.

"The Model 1605 inverter provides maximum current output continuously hour after hour without overheating," stated B&K Marketing Representative Greg VonRehder. "It can be plugged into the standard cigarette lighter or 12Vdc accessory outlet of any automobile, camper or boat and provides a steady source of 115Vac output. Front panel indicator lights provide a quick visual indication of the unit's operating status, as well as the condition of the 12Vdc (battery) source."

Features include overload protection, a front panel mounted low battery warning and a convenient, easily accessible 3-prong, 115Vac outlet. The Model 1605 inverter is priced at $69.
