2” x 4” 150W AC-DCs are 2 x MOPP and ITE Approved
XP Power has announced its EPL150 series, a range of high-density, low- profile, open-frame ac-dc power supplies targeting space-critical, cost-sensitive, industrial, healthcare, and ITE applications. The company says that the EPL150 series can be used for applications in numerous industries including automation and process control, broadcast, ITE, oil and gas and medical where the combination of efficiency, small size, performance, and safety approvals will be desired.
The EPL150 series produces 100W output with convection cooling and 150W with as little as 10CFM airflow. The product measures 2" x 4" and has a low profile of 0.99" makes it perfect for space-constrained applications.
The company says that the power supply provides high efficiency of up to 95% typical at 150W with above 85% achieved down to 10% load, and this efficiency enables class-leading power density. No load losses are less than 0.5W, translating to reduced running costs and compliance with the latest environmental goals and legislation.
The EPL150 series maximizes efficiency across the load range and minimizes no-load power consumption and heat dissipation, reduces running costs, and enables compliance with the most recent environmental goals and legislation.
The parts are approved for use in Class I or Class II (earth free) applications. The EPL150 series features comprehensive safety agency approvals including IEC60950-1-1 for ITE, IEC62368-1 for ITE and IEC/ES60601-1 for medical.
The device's Medical approvals are for two means of patient protection (2 x MOPP) from input to output and one means of patient protection (1 x MOPP) from both input to earth and output to earth, suitable for BF applied-part applications. Patient leakage current is under 50µA and isolation test voltage is 4kVac input to output and 1.5kVAC from input to earth and output to earth.
Low-noise outputs are available in 12V,15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, 36V and 48V with a useful additional 12V fan supply provided, rated at 0.5A. The device's input is from 80Vac to 264Vac, and its operating altitude maximum is 5000m making the components suitable for worldwide use.
Full power is available at up to +50°C with derating to +70°C ambient temperature. The device offers protection for overvoltage, overload, and short circuits.
