Beta Dyne Unveils New FSR5 Series Switching Regulators
Beta Dyne Inc. (Bridgewater, MA) introduced its new FSR5 Series of wide-input/wide-output, step-down, switching regulators, which consist of 15 models and offer an output power range from 2 W to 22 W, a wide input-voltage range from 4.5 Vin to 18 Vin, and a wide output-voltage range from 1.0 Vout to 5.5 Vout. The 15 models are further differentiated by their output current of 2 A, 3 A or 4 A, as is reflected in the new model number format.
The FSR5 features regulated, adjustable output voltages (up to 4:1 for the 1.8 Vout models), efficiency up to 96%, overload protection (125% full load typical), continuous short-circuit protection, remote on/off control, a 300 kHz switching frequency, an optional auto sense feature, and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
The case and pins are available in either vertical or horizontal configurations, and come housed in an industry-standard, 12-pin, SIP package measuring 1.27 in x 0.59 in x 0.36 in (32.20 mm x 15.00 mm x 9.10 mm). Prices start at $13.00 for the FSR52XX, $13.90 for the FSR53XX and $14.90 for the FSR54XX. Discounts are available for larger quantities. Units are available four to six weeks ARO.
