Beta Dyne Releases SR20/SRA40 Regulators

June 16, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Beta Dyne Inc. (Bridgewater, MA) announced the release of its SR20 and SRA40 switching regulators, which are 20W and 40W, constant-frequency, current-mode, step-up converters with excellent line and load regulation. Suitable applications include battery chargers/backup systems, external modems, xDSL power supplies, telecom hardware, LAN and network systems, and point-of-sale systems.

The SR20 accepts 5Vin to 8Vin and provides 9Vout, 12Vout, 15Vout, 18Vout and 24Vout, while the SRA40 accepts 10Vin to 17Vin and provides 15Vout, 18Vout and 24Vout. The SR20 and SRA40 achieve high power density, low cost and high reliability via high switching frequency and SMD technology. The switching regulators also require a low impedance power source or minimum 1,000µF input and output capacitors for proper operation. Package size for both models is 1in x 2in x 0.39in.

Units are available four to six weeks ARO. Pricing for the SR20 starts at $49 each and the SRA40 at $65 each, with discounts available for larger quantities.
