Baldor Offers New GC and GP Series Gearmotors

July 09, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Baldor Electric Co. (Fort Smith, AR) released a new range of right-angle gearmotors featuring an internal oil-expansion chamber, eliminating the breather vent on conventional units that can restrict the choice of mounting position and eliminating the possibility of airborne contaminant and moisture ingress, which shortens gear life.

The new GC and GP Series of single-reduction ratio gearmotors offer a choice of gear styles with ratios from 5:1 to 3600:1, in motor powers ranging from 0.03kW to 0.37kW, and in either ac and dc ratings. The new casting design eliminates porosity leaks, reduces weight and increases strength while maintaining interchangeability with other gearmotor manufacturers to simplify upgrades and repairs.

Baldor's new gearmotors are suitable for controlling large load inertias with a comparatively small motor inertia, suiting a wide variety of applications in equipment such as conveyors, material handling, packaging and machine tools. A free catalogue is available on request.
