Axiomatic Technologies Releases New DC Motor Controls

July 25, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Axiomatic Technologies Corp. (Canada) announced the release of microprocessor-based, variable-speed dc motor controls for battery-powered electric vehicles, including small pallet trucks, sweepers, scissor lifts, walkie vehicles, forklifts, material-handling vehicles, industrial trucks, booms and boom trucks, personnel carriers, personnel lifts, and tow tractors.

The new controls are designed for ruggedness and reliability, with a synchronous-rectification design. Axiomatic claims the device has an energy efficiency of up to 98 percent. It accepts battery-power input at 24Vdc or 48Vdc. A CAN bus interface and various current outputs are available. The controllers are conformal-coated and enclosed in a metal box. Additional features include dynamic braking control, parking-brake control and monitoring, and self-diagnostic LED indicators for troubleshooting. The system is operational from -40 to 85 degrees C.
