AVX Presents New TPM Tantalum Capacitors

January 07, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) introduced its new TPM multi-anode capacitors for use with the latest high-speed microprocessor families. Offering design engineers an ultra-low ESR, high capacitance, high ripple current capacitor, the multi-anode configuration within a standard "E" (7343-43) case package meets the requirements for processor filtering. The devices are suitable for power supply decoupling in high-speed data processing applications like broadband networks and computers and also in any circuit where very high capacitance and ultra low ESR are required.

The TPM multi-anode capacitors feature capacitance values from 470µF up to 1,000µF with tolerances to ±20 percent. Designed for high-performance applications, the multi-anode caps provide low ESR values down to 18 mOhms and ripple current ratings up to nearly 4A(rms) with an operating temperature range of –55°C to +125°C.

Pricing for the new TPM multi-anode capacitors ranges from $1.80 to $3.20 each in quantities of 10,000 to 100,000, with lead times from stock to eight weeks.
