AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) announced additions to its CWR09 and CWR11 military tantalum chip capacitor families. The CWR09 style, commercially available as the TAZ Series, provides maximum flexibility in surface-mount capacitors with eight case sizes to cover the full capacitance/voltage range. The CWR11 style, commercially available as the TBJ Series, is designed to EIA standard sizes, using common board layout designs shared with commercial products.
Typical specifications for the CWR09 and CWR11 Series include a capacitance range up to 470mF. Standard capacitance tolerances are ±20 percent over the operating temperature range of –55°C to +125°C. The CWR09 TAZ and CWR11 TBJ Series are available with three termination finishes: fused solder plated (K per MIL-PRF-55365), hot solder dipped (C) and gold plated (B). All TAZ and TBJ Series capacitors are packaged on tape and reel and are compatible with automatic placement equipment.
