Ault Intros New FDA 200 Open-Frame Power Supply

February 18, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Ault Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) introduced its compact FDA 200 open-frame power supply. Measuring less than 1U high (1.47 in), the FDA family has the ability to power loads up to 200 W. Output voltages are available from 1.8 Vdc to 48 Vdc. Suitable for a wide range of applications, the FDA 200 is power-factor corrected, compliant with EN61000-3-2, and passes the conducted emissions of EN-55022.

The FDA family is also suitable for industrial, digital video and data encryption applications where robustness and efficiency are critical. To eliminate the need to select 110 V or 220 V modes, the FDA 200 features a universal input, increasing OEM design flexibility. The Ault FDA 200 is available in single-output, dual-output and triple-output versions. There are 11 models in the family with various output-voltage combinations.

The FDA 200 family is priced in the mid-to-upper $80 range per unit (depending on number of outputs) in 1,000-unit quantities.
