Astrodyne Offers New AC-DC Switching Power Supplies

Astrodyne Corp. introduced the ECA Series of ultra-miniature encapsulated switching power supplies for EMC noise compliance to EN 60601-1-2:2001. The supplies are designed to meet the power and EMC noise performance requirements in instrumentation, control, and telecommunication systems,. All models accept universal input from 90-264Vac and 60 models are available that provide output power from 5 to 15W, with single and dual outputs from 5 to 24Vdc.

The company claims that the new ECA Series is pin-out and size compatible to more costly encapsulated modules. The ECA Series will operate over the ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain internal input filtering, overvoltage and short circuit protection circuitry. The ECA Series is both RoHS 2002/95/EC compliant and fully approved to UL/EN60950-1 safety specifications. For medical applications the series is also available in medically-approved EMA versions to UL/EN60601-1 safety levels. Dimensions are as small as 2.28"L X 1.77"W X 0.83"H (5W version) and all models are designed for Pin Mount PCB plug-in or Screw Terminal Chassis mounting.
