June 14, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Astec (Carlsbad, CA) announced the opening of its new design center located in Austin, TX. The new design center, which is nearly 14,000sqft, joins Astec’s three other North American design centers and seven design centers worldwide. It was built to address the rapid growth in the dc/dc power supply markets, especially in the areas of telecommunications and computing applications.

“We are pleased to introduce our new design center as a facility that is expected to support Astec’s future growth,” said Chris Young, director of engineering for Astec Austin. “Configured to optimize our operational environment, we expect it to provide a productive, efficient and exciting work atmosphere for our employees.”
