Astec (Carlsbad, CA) has announced the availability of a new low-power switcher model designed to address the needs of networking product manufacturers. With a low profile design that can fit in 1U rack configurations, the new LCT43-E model accepts universal ac input (85 to 264Vac and 120 to 370Vdc) and has triple dc outputs of 5V, +12V and –12V. The unit provides 47W of output power with 12 CFM forced air. The fully enclosed switcher has a compact footprint of 3.2 inches by 6.2 inches and is only 1.5 inches high. The high-efficiency device also features built-in EMI filtering and short circuit protection on all outputs as well as over-load and over-voltage protection. The LCT43-E has an operating temperature range of zero to 50 degrees C without derating and can function up to 70 degrees C by derating each output 2.5 percent per degree C. The device complies with worldwide safety and performance standards including UL1950, CSA22.2-234-950-95-M90, VDE 0805/EN60950 (IEC950) CE and CB. Certified to FCC Class B CISPR 22 B, and EN55022 class B conducted and radiated emission standards. It also meets Bellcore GR 1089-core Class B as well as the latest IEC 61000-4, -3,-2, -4,-5,-6 –8 and –11 standards for electromagnetic compatibility. Priced from $34 in quantities of 1000, production quantities are available now with standard lead times.
